Priest House Museum comes to Bransgore

Posted: Jan 30, 2019 by: Sarah Cobb (scobb) on: Giraffes, Panthers & Zebras

Today, KS1 were visited by the Priest House Museum who brought a big selection of old toys and games with them, dating back to the Victorian period. We had a wonderful time looking at how toys and games have changed over the years and had a chance to touch/play different games.
We saw spinning tops, Jacob's ladders, old money boxes, an old handmade bike without pedals or brakes and a doll made from china, wax, fabric, glass and human hair!
We learnt some new games to play too: Grandmother's footsteps, Queen Anne and a game where we throw cards into a hat.
We now know that toys in the past were made from natural materials such as wood, metal, leather, fabric, wax, glass and china. Thank you Priest House Museum :-)
