Floating and sinking challenge!
Posted: May 3, 2017 by: Sarah Cobb (scobb) on: Giraffes, Panthers & Zebras
Today, KS1 were visited by a rather distressed Davey. Davey has been shipwrecked for months and can't get off his island! The children were very keen to help Davey by building a prototype using all the rubbish that has washed ashore.
The children worked in groups of three and had to consider the materials they used. There was lots of brilliant discussion about floating, sinking, balance, strength and the volume of air that a container would hold; wow!
Davey came round to see how we had got on and was very impressed. We will be testing and evaluating our boats tomorrow! Great learning everyone!
