Pupil Premium
At Bransgore CE Primary School, our Christian vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a loving, inclusive and nurturing school community where every child feels valued, supported and able to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
We believe that all pupils should have equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of background or circumstance. The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) enables us to provide targeted support, wider opportunities and high-quality provision for disadvantaged pupils, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensure every child can reach their full potential.
Our key priorities
Our Pupil Premium strategy focuses on:
- Raising attainment and accelerating progress for disadvantaged pupils across the curriculum.
- Developing a whole-school inclusive approach that supports pupils’ academic achievement, wellbeing and engagement in learning.
- Improving attendance, punctuality and readiness to learn.
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs through nurturing and relational approaches.
- Developing pupils’ communication, language and literacy skills.
- Providing wider opportunities and enrichment experiences to develop confidence, resilience and aspiration.
How we support our pupils
We believe that high-quality teaching is the most important factor in improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. Alongside quality first teaching, we provide targeted interventions, pastoral support and wider opportunities to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Our provision includes:
- Targeted academic support and interventions in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Speech, language and communication support, including NELI and Language Link.
- Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) interventions, Thrive and nurture provision through The Burrow sensory and nurture space.
- The development of Zones of Regulation as a whole-school approach to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
- Strong relationships with families through trusted staff and key adults within the school community.
- Parent workshops and opportunities to strengthen home–school partnerships.
- Outdoor learning, gardening and enrichment opportunities to support wellbeing, confidence and social development.
- Practical support for families where needed through partnerships with the local community and church.
We continually review the impact of our provision through assessment, attendance monitoring, pupil voice and ongoing evaluation to ensure that support remains effective and responsive to pupils’ needs.
