By when?

EYFS

Small group PSED interventions using school therapy pack.

Speech Link assessment of all pupils who are a cause for concern. Carry out suggested interventions.

Sensory circuits established for pupils with PD needs and targeted PE activities for small groups.

Provision of additional catch up phonics sessions.

  1. Staffing/space

We lack a class TA on Thursdays and Fridays and would need an additional adult for those afternoons to run interventions.

ELSA/PSED training for staff (Lego Therapy, Black Sheep resources, ie: Nursery Narrative), PSED board games (ie: time to talk book ages 4-8 and game https://www.hope-education.co.uk/product/sen/communication-skills/communication-resources/time-to-talk/he1005966 )

  1. Time to implement Speech Link testing & interventions.
  2. NELI interventions for pupils who need support with language.
  3. Staff and space to set up circuits and refresh equipment, sensory circuits handbook.
  4. Access to Read Write Inc portal (especially important if we go into lockdown)

Pupils are able to re-establish attachments, remember and get back into school rules and routines and address any anxieties they may have about returning to school.

Pupils are secure and ready to learn. Progress is rapid and deficits in speech and language are promptly addressed so children are ready for the move to KS1.

Pupils’ sensory and developmental needs (fine/gross motor etc.) are addressed and appropriate support means they regain skills and aptitudes that may have lapsed.

Pupils who must isolate or who are away due to closure of a bubble will still retain access to top quality phonics provision.
