Bransgore C.E. Primary School is a centre for initial teacher training (ITT).
 

We work in close partnership with a number of local Teacher Training Initiatives.

Since 2001, the school has taken part in the training of teachers from the Bournemouth and East Dorset SCITT course, essentially in Foundation and Key Stage 1. We welcome trainees and our teachers lead various University based sessions focusing on effective planning and learning across Key Stages 1 and 2.

The trainees enable our school to be at the forefront of educational development in our continuing search for excellence.

School Based Training
As part of our commitment to Teacher Training, the school provides a thorough induction programme and allows access to a number of registered mentors across each Key Stage. We value the importance of effective communication in supporting both trainees and parents alike during this time.

At the end of each placement, trainees are given the opportunity to comment on the level of support they have received. The use of school based questionnaires enable us to critically reflect the level of support we provide and improve aspects of current good practice.

Work Experience

Due to our commitment to local teacher training initiatives we are unfortunately unable to offer work experience placements to secondary school children.
