Academy
Status Update - November 2011
Good News! With the approval of the Secretary of State and the
Diocese, the Governors have agreed to Academy status from the
1st December 2011.
I must publically thank Jennifer Hunter and Andy Greenhalgh (Parent
Governors) for all their hard work leading the academy task group
and supporting the school leadership during the conversion process.
Hopefully you will not notice any change, just the freedom for
us to continue to provide the very best education for the children.
Freedom not to have to implement government curriculums etc if
they are not right for our learners. |

Transport to School Policy Changes - Update 18-10-2011 |
The
change in the transport policy for those children living in the
Forest with more than one catchment school will not be applicable
for current Year 6s - this cohort are entitled to transport assistances
to any of their catchment schools. However, when the current Year
5s time comes to progress to secondary school, they will only
be entitled to transport to their nearest catchment school. This
means that if they are in-catchment for Ringwood, Arnewood and
Highcliffe, they will only be entitled to the school nearest
to their home. For example, the distance calculated from
school are as follows:
Highcliffe School = 3.2 Miles / Arnewood School = 4.1 Miles /
Ringwood School = 6.2 Miles this means if a child was living at
school they would be entitled to transport to Highcliffe School.
